CBD and your Period
CBD is in everything these days, so would it be weird to think CBD could help women when aunt flow comes to visit? No, of course not.
Every month, women can experience aching backs and joints, headaches, nausea, and just feeling fatigued and a bit blue. With all of the testimonials, reviews, anecdotal evidence and clinical research evidence, we have on the therapeutic effects of this special cannabinoid, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to think CBD could help ease the symptoms that occur when it comes to that time of the month. Much like the cannabis plant, periods have been a taboo subject in society for a very long time, but as the world becomes more accepting of CBD and the cannabis plant, maybe its time we open the floor for conversations on periods as well.
It has been found that 9 out of 10 women in the UK are affected by period pain, with 57% revealing that it is so bad that it affects their ability to work. Women throughout time have been trying to deal with these symptoms and we all know the go-to tips and tricks including trying paracetamol or ibuprofen and applying hot water bottles. Yet, those are really the only options women have to try to help with the pain and discomfort- until recent years that is.
However, there are now such products as CBD-infused tampons available, that women can now try, and see if products such as these could work for them. There have also been anecdotal reviews of CBD oils that have helped with period pains. This could be due to there being a lot of cannabinoid receptors in the vagina, because of this it is an ideal way to unlock CBD’s therapeutic benefits. There are also products such as CBD suppositories, bath salts and even bath bombs, that are excellent ways to administer CBD during your period. Or, if you want a quick and easy way to administer CBD at that time of the month, use a CBD oil tincture- by putting a few drops under the tongue or you can even add a few drops to a drink or meal instead.
As we enter a new age and era, instead of having to just put up with the dreaded monthly symptoms why not introduce CBD into the mix. By introducing CBD, you can have a rest from cramps, aches and pains, making your daily life that much easier.
As knowledge grows when it comes to the cannabis plant, and CBD, the more acceptance there is of the cannabinoid, and with that comes the awareness of its potential benefits for all people and all parts of life, including areas where it may not be the first place you’d think CBD could help.
